What type of encryption does Backup-EZ use?

Backup-EZ uses an encryption method known as Twofish, which is a block cipher by Counterpane Labs, published in 1998. All data is then transferred over the internet using SSL (Secure Socket Layer), a cryptographic protocols that provide secure communications between two systems.

Your data is securely stored on a remote backup server using military level encryption employed by most multinational banks that require a high level of security. All of your data is 128-bit encrypted and compressed before being uploaded and stored on the Backup-EZ Offsite Backup Server through a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) channel.

Encryption and decryption will only be done on your computer using your password, which will not be transmitted during uploading and downloading. Therefore, nobody can read the data except you. Data may also be accessed remotely with the username, password and software.
